Today, more than ever, people are searching for the best sustainable fashion brands. Having worked in the Fashion Industry for many years, I witnessed first hand how many resources are used in making a single item of clothing. However, on a positive note, fashion companies have been making HUGE improvements to reduce chemicals, water usage, pesticides, etc. in their supply chains. Sustainable clothes used to have a stigma of being “not fashionable” or “expensive”, but now, that couldn’t be farther from the truth! I wanted to take the time to share a few companies that I love that are doing their part by making sustainable clothing always on trend!
Reformation

Starting with one of my favorite brands! Reformation’s focus starts at the fiber stage (i.e. cotton, etc.) by sourcing the most sustainable fibers to have the most impact. Although some of their pieces are on the pricey side, they are worth the design, quality and detail. These pieces are versatile through different seasons and fashion trends. Another added plus, is their beautiful and unique prints are always showstoppers!
SEZANE
Price: From $55-$300+
It was a no brainer that one of my favorite French brands would make the list! Sezane prides themselves on sustainable materials, factories and transportation. They also take it a step further and show this transparency on their website so customers can follow their progress. Their pieces are well-made and have unique details that will draw many compliments! Since they are known for great quality, they can be cherished for many years to come. You can say it has that certain je ne sais quoi!
Amour Vert

Crafted in California, not only are their clothes elegant but for every tee that is bought, they plant a tree in return! They have planted 178k+ trees so far and look forward to seeing that number grow! Their styles have a delicate, minimalistic silhouettes which make it easy to incorporate into any wardrobe. Great options for smart casual style for any professional setting.
Doen

With a focus on reducing their environmental impact, Doen is another great brand on this list! Their design of whimsical and romantic pieces will make you fall head over heels every time! Although there are some expensive pieces, you can feel comfortable knowing that these pieces have quality that will last while also helping the planet!
Petite Studio

Their slogan of “slow fashion” is really changing up the fashion game. In an industry that continues to push fast fashion, it is nice to see a brand taking a stand! They are based in NYC, and have a strong focus on slower garment manufacturing to ensure that high quality and detail is met so the garments can last a lifetime!
Eileen Fisher
Eileen Fisher has been a trailblazer in the sustainable world! They have aimed their focus on reducing waste and recycling items of clothing. Their minimalist silhouettes provide easy transition pieces between seasons. Eileen Fisher’s laser focus on high quality standards make it an easy choice to build your sustainable wardrobe. From tops to dresses, these items will take your style to the next level while also keeping the planet in mind.
Boden
Able
I love discovering female-owned businesses that support other women in their communities and across the globe. The ABLE brand does just that! According to their website, “They are an ethical fashion brand that employs and empowers women as a solution to end poverty!” When you buy one of their pieces, you are not only investing in a high quality wardrobe, but also investing in women’s futures. When fashion and ethics collide is a beautiful sight to see!
Levi’s
Jenni Kayne

The list above are just a few of my favorites, but there are more like Polo Ralph Lauren, Patagonia, Pact, etc. that are all making improvements to better the fashion industry. In some way or another, most companies are finding ways to positively make an impact and that is so refreshing to see as a win-win!
